Donk London

Donk is a London-based street artist, photographer and printmaker whose distinctive practice combines original photography, paste-up street art, screen printing and hand-finishing techniques. Working under the anonymous name Donk, he began placing his imagery onto the streets of London and elsewhere in 2008.

His work draws on urban history, popular culture, childhood and the passage of time, creating playful and often surreal compositions that bring together elements from different eras. Many of his images feature family and friends, transformed into characters within imagined worlds that explore themes of imagination, vulnerability, courage and human connection.

Originally developed through his street-based practice, Donk’s imagery often begins as high-contrast photographic constructions before being translated into richly layered screen prints. His work retains the raw, imperfect character of the street, while the meticulous hand-finishing gives each piece an individual quality.
